Qualcomm's Flagship Processor is Here: Snapdragon 888 with New 5G Modem, AI Engine

Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 888 to Power Next Year's Android Flagships 



2021 is knocking the door and Qualcomm unveils the Flagship SoC as per ritual every year as Snapdragon Summit happens around this time every year. 845, 855, 865 and then 875?? No Snapdragon by everyone's surprise changed the naming convention of the Chipsets. Very soon we will get to know about the First Phones compatible in this price. As per latest news
Mi 11 is confirmed to be powered with this chipset. Other than that Samsung Galaxy S21 is also there including all major players like LG, Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus, Realme, Asus, Motorola, ZTE, Lenovo will also have their respective devices on this chipset.




Qualcomm will soon publish the details this week but some key features of Snapdragon 888 are
  • 5G Connectivity with 3rd Generation X60 5G Modem 
  • Adreno 660 GPU
  • WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2
  • Octa Core processor with 1 core being 2.84 Ghz Cortex X1 SuperCore, 3 cores are 2.4 Ghz Cortex A78 and 4 cores clocked at 1.8 Ghz Cortex A55
It will support upto 144Hz Displays and this chip has the most significant GPU upgrade ever. The chip has an updated ISP which can now take photos and videos upto 2.7 gigapixels per second, a 35% increase over 865 which is equivalent to 120 12MP photos per second.

Additionally, this chip has a completely re-engineered Qualcomm Hexagon processor improves the generation AI engine.The new system supposedly ramps up performance by upto 26 tera-operations per second.

To demonstrate the capabilities of Snapdragon 888 SoC  during the keynote, Qualcomm showed two radio-controlled race cars connected entirely using a 5G mmWave network that were controlled over a mile away using a Snapdragon 888 refrence design.
